To start this Come Follow Me Lesson, read Helaman chapters 8 and 9. Focus on the verses used in the Gadianton Robbers Post It Matching Game. Complete the game by matching the scripture verse with the picture. You can do it together as a family or let each child do their own.
Take a wiggle break and sing Do As I’m Doing. For the last action point your finger to your head, like you are thinking. Explain to the family that your action was “pondering.” Explain what the word means and how it applies to the gospel. Read Helaman 10:2-4 and read the pondering quote. Explain what pondering means.
Use the pondering cake walk to help everyone think of and share about a time they have pondered.
Explain that when we ponder we are keeping our baptismal covenant to always remember Him. End the lesson by coloring the Remembering Him Coloring Page
For a bonus activity this week learn about what a famine is. Use the famine activity to help demonstrate. You will need candy runts for this activity.
In Helaman chapters 7-9 we learn about the prophet Nephi. Use the Prophets compare and contrast page to write or draw things you notice are similar, different, or the same as modern prophets.
The scripture marking guide will help the kids study Helaman 7:17-24.
