September 7 – September 13 Come Follow Me Lesson for Kids, “Lift Up Your Head and Be of Good Cheer”

Before this Come Follow Me lesson, hide the pieces of the star puzzle around the room. Take turns finding the pieces and putting the star puzzle together. Talk about how a star was one of the signs of Christ’s birth. 

We have included Circle Time Stories for each chapter of this week’s reading. Read together 3 Nephi 1 or use the Circle time story to summarize it. You could have and older child read the Circle Time Stories to younger siblings.

Discuss the signs shown to the Nephites before the birth of Christ and complete the Sign of Christ’s Birth Scene Activity.

Read 3 Nephi 1:20 and help the kids understand that if we follow the prophet we have no need to fear. Finish the lesson by coloring the Prophets’ Words are Always Fulfilled coloring page.

As a bonus activity talk about what it means to be a disciple of Christ. Complete the Are You A Disciple Search and the I Am A Disciple of Christ TP Kids.

There are many talks about being a disciple. Consider letting older children find a talk and letting them be the teacher and teaching the family what they learned. 

Use the Stronger Together Object Lesson and discuss the importance of being united as a family.

Use the Scripture Marking Guides to to study 3 Nephi 7:15-26. Read your lesson summary page Day 5 bonus activity for ideas of things to discuss after studying these verses.
