August 9 – August 15 Come Follow Me Lesson for Kids: Establish… A House Of God

We have multiple Come Follow Me subscriptions and multiple activities in each subscription to help you find what works best for your family. Our goal is to help families come closer to Christ and we’ve worked really hard on providing more options to help achieve our goal.

Toddler Come Follow Me Activity

Before the lesson hide the 4 pictures of Jesus around the room. Teach that Jesus has asked us to seek Him. When we seek for Him it means we search for him. Let your child look for the pictures of Jesus. After they have found all 4 pictures discuss ways we can seek Jesus. We can seek Him by reading the scriptures. He has also taught us to seek learning by reading the best books. Read D&C 88:118 Color the coloring page while you talk about some of your favorite books that you like to read together. Share your testimony about how you seek Jesus each day.

Simplified Come Follow Me Activity

Read D&C 88:119. Create the “Prepare Every Needful Thing Mini Book.” Then go through every page and discuss what it means what it looks like in your house. Think about how each of you can make your house more spiritual.

SEE IT ACTIVITY:

Read Doctrine and Covenants 88:123. Watch the Love One Another Video. As you watch, look for examples of how each person is showing love to someone else. Make the “Love One Another Chain.” Discuss how you and your family can show love to others. Finish by coloring the “Love One Another Coloring Page.”

DO IT ACTIVITY:

Create the “Cease To Be Idle Clock.” Read Doctrine and Covenants 88:124 and discuss what it means to be idle. Read each scenario on your lesson plan page and discuss how each person was idle and what would have been a better choice.
