December 13 – December 19 Come Follow Me Lesson for Kids: The Family Is Central To The Creator’s Plan

We have multiple Come Follow Me subscriptions and multiple activities in each subscription to help you find what works best for your family. Our goal is to help families come closer to Christ and we’ve worked really hard on providing more options to help achieve our goal.

Toddler Come Follow Me Activity

Show your family a picture of Jesus. Explain to your family that when we follow the teachings in the Proclamation to the Family we will be happy. Show a picture of your family and ask what makes your family happy. Role play scenarios taught in the Family Proclamation such as prayer, repentance, forgiveness, love, etc. As a family decide on one wholesome activity to do together. Use the family stick puppets as you sing “Happy Family” (Children’s Songbook pg. 198a).

Simplified Come Follow Me Activity

Use the “Bike Object Lesson” to teach your family about how the family is central to God’s plan. Explain to them each part of the wheel and what it represents. As we grow closer to God our family becomes stronger. Consider going on a family bike ride at the end of the lesson.

SEE IT ACTIVITY:

Watch the video “Protecting Our Nests.” Then discuss how we can protect our homes from the adversary. Finish by completing the “My Family Book.”

CREATE IT ACTIVITY:

Read the first paragraph of The Family: A Proclamation to the World. Ues the Marriage Oreos Object Lesson to teach your family about being sealed in the temple. Finish by making homemade oreos using the recipe in your materials.
