October 16 – October 22 Come Follow Me Lesson for Kids: Perfect That Which Is Lacking in Your Faith

We have multiple lessons for a variety of ages in our digital subscription to help you find what works best for your family. Our goal is to help families come closer to Christ and we’ve worked really hard on providing more options to help families implement Come Follow Me in their home.

Toddler Come Follow Me Activity

1. Let your children color the coloring page of the resurrected Christ while you read 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. You can switch things up this week with the coloring page and let them use water colors. You can also play some songs primary songs that reinforce what the scripture says.
2. Teach your children that Christ will come again. Summarize or read a couple verses that stand out to you from 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18, 5:1:10 and 2 Thessalonians 1:4-10. Make the mobile together and talk about each piece and how it helps us prepare for the second coming. Hang it in your child’s room as a reminder for them.
3. In 2 Thessalonians 3:10-13 Paul teaches the gospel of work. As a family discuss the importance of working and make a list of chores that are appropriate for each person. Sing “When We’re Helping” (Children’s Songbook pg 198b). Then let everyone complete one of the chores on the list. Afterwards teach that working helps others and provides a sense of accomplishment.

Elementary Come Follow Me Activities

Summary of this week’s Hands-On Learning Activity

Read 1 Thessalonians 5:1-6 and prepare your second coming suitcase. As you complete the suitcase discuss how you can prepare for the second coming.

Summary of this week’s Scripture Study Activity

Read 1 Thessalonians 5:8 and 2:10-13. Hang up a picture of the current prophet and apostles. Discuss the attributes/characteristics you read about in the verses and write them on a sticky note and put them around the picture. If you need more attributes think of attributes the current church leaders have.
