Come Follow Me Lessons & Activities for Kids Lesson 30 | July 22-28 | Alma 32-35

The gospel of Jesus Christ is often in contrast with the doctrines of the world. The wicked Zoramites had abandoned the inspired word of God for their own interpretation, neglecting the principles of faith and repentance. Their hardened hearts were not receptive to Alma’s preaching, unlike the poor Zoramites who were eager to learn how the gospel could bring them peace.

Children are likely to have hearts soft like the poor Zoramites, ready to learn and apply truths such as those taught in Alma 32-35. They have a sincere “desire to believe” (Alma 32:27) and want to discover and ask questions. As parents, we must be receptive to their need for spiritual nourishment and be prepared to teach them so the word might be planted in their hearts.

Hands-On Activity

Read Alma 32:21-22 with your family. Discuss what faith is and how God first desires that we believe, then we will be blessed to increase our faith, just as we need to have faith that a seed will grow as we take care of and nourish it. Follow the instructions on the “Seed Tag” page to plant seeds and watch them grow. Teach your children to believe in God and they will see miracles!

Salvation to All

Coloring Activity

Read Alma 34:16-17 with your family. Then, color the “Salvation to All Who Believe on His Name” coloring page as you discuss how Christ has made it possible for us to have faith that we can be forgiven because of His sacrifice for us through the atonement. He only asks that we believe and have faith in Him so He can help us gain eternal life.

Toddler Bundle Lessons & Activities​

For kids ages 1-4 at home and in nursery or sunbeams. The toddler bundle Includes a full lesson plan with THREE activities that align with scripture written by an early childhood educator. These include a coloring page, another printable activity, and a movement activity that helps young children understand the scriptures. Here are a couple of highlights from this week’s lesson.

Faith Snack Mats

Hands-On Activity

Use the lesson’s printout for “Faith Snack Mats” to teach children about principles from Alma 32. Prepare by printing and laminating the mats, then gather small snacks like Cheerios or Fruit Loops. Read Alma 32:21 to your child, explaining that faith is believing in something you can’t see with your eyes, using examples like believing you’re still in the house when they can’t see you. Relate this to having faith in God and Jesus Christ. Place the snack mat in front of your child and help them count as they place a snack on each numbered space. Each mat includes a sentence about faith, a children’s song, or a scripture to discuss while they enjoy their snacks.
