Come Follow Me Lessons & Activities for Kids Lesson 31 | July 29-August 4 | Alma 36-38
Everyone loves to tell their mission stories. Missionaries serving across the world, from Alaska to Albania, share experiences with their families to teach important principles of faith and trust in the Lord. Alma was no different, sharing his experiences with his sons as they took on more responsibility in the Church.
One of the most important lessons Alma imparted to his sons was that God loved them and the value of a strong relationship with Jesus Christ. He admonished them to “counsel with the Lord in all thy doings” (Alma 37:37), and if they did, God would lead them to do good. Our children should be taught the same truth, that if they will “look to God” (Alma 37:47) in all things, they will find joy.
This week’s Come Follow Me FHE lessons teaches principles straight from the scriptures. They include everything you need to make Come, Follow Me fun for your kids! THIS WEEK’S COME FOLLOW ME HIGHLIGHTS
Elementary Bundle Lessons & Activities
The elementary bundle is a treasure trove for kids aged 4-11, featuring activities that instill key principles. Let’s explore three highlights:
Scripture Mini Books
Scripture Study
Make an “Alma Shares His Story” mini book for each of your children. After you read the story as a family, pair everyone up and let them retell the story to their partner. Explain that when Alma was converted, he dedicated his life to bringing others to Christ. Then play the “Bring Others to Christ” game from the lesson. Remember, you also have a “Scripture Story Guide & Stickers” this week!
Scripture Covers
Go & Do Activity
As a family read and discuss Alma 37:38-47. In these verses, Alma has given the Liahona to Helaman. Alma then testifies that Heavenly Father has prepared a way for His children to return to Him. He has given us the “word of Christ which will point to a straight course to eternal bliss.” Teach your children that scriptures can be our own Liahona. Then use the lesson guide to make covers for your scriptures!
The light of the world
Coloring Activity
Read and discuss Alma 38:9 with your family. Talk about how Christ makes it possible for us to repent and be saved. To help you remember this, do the pin-poke art together that says: “He is the life, light of the world, the word of truth.” When you are done, shine a light behind your paper, or hold it up to a window to see the light shine through.

Toddler Bundle Lessons & Activities
For kids ages 1-4 at home and in nursery or sunbeams. The toddler bundle Includes a full lesson plan with THREE activities that align with scripture written by an early childhood educator. These include a coloring page, another printable activity, and a movement activity that helps young children understand the scriptures. Here are a couple of highlights from this week’s lesson.
Repentance Brings Me Joy
Hands-On Activity
Remind your child of Alma the Younger’s conversion to the gospel. Describe how Alma had once hurt people who chose to believe in Jesus. One day an angel came to him and told him that what he was doing was wrong. The angel made it so Alma could not speak. Ask your child, “Can you close your lips together like you can’t speak?” During the time he couldn’t talk, Alma began to feel bad for the things he had done. He remembered his mistakes and it made him really sad. Ask your child to make a sad face. Alma decided to ask God to forgive him. Read Alma 36:20. Tell your child that he felt joy when he repented! He felt happy inside after telling God sorry for what he had done. Ask your child to make a happy face. Using the lesson materials, cut out the smile/frowny face and rotate to show the different faces as you sing the song “Smiles” (Children’s Songbook, pg. 267a). Give your child a few scenarios of situations that may make them happy or sad. Have them jump if it makes them happy and stand still if it makes them sad. For example: Your brother or sister calls you a mean name. Your friend shares their toy. Your dad gives you a big hug, etc. Help them recognize that good choices make them happy and mistakes/sin make us sad. Tell them they can feel happy again by saying sorry and repenting for wrong choices.
The toddler bundle includes a lesson plan and three activities every week. Grab the toddler bundle in our subscription.
