Come Follow Me Lessons & Activities for Kids Lesson 36 | September 2-8 | Helaman 7-12
Every day, we have the opportunity to learn something new. We learn best when we are able to review it several times so it sticks with us. The gospel of Jesus Christ is taught in the same way: we learn new things through revelation, and we remember them by living the principles of the gospel every day of our entire lives.
Nephi, the son of Helaman, preached to the Nephites about their lack of willingness to remember “the Lord their God” (Helaman 12:2). We all as parents sometimes slip and put other things ahead of spiritual priorities such as family scripture study, but the blessings of gospel living only comes through remembering the Lord.
This week’s Come Follow Me FHE lessons teaches principles straight from the scriptures. Each lesson includes everything you need to make Come, Follow Me fun for your kids! Join our membership for only $10 a month, and you’ll gain access to a treasure trove of resources to strengthen your family’s spiritual foundation and growth.

THIS WEEK’S COME FOLLOW ME HIGHLIGHTS
Elementary Bundle Lessons & Activities
This week, teach your children the chapters of Alma 43-52. You will find an activity book for your children (one for ages 3-6 and one for ages 7+). Print your activity book pages, then cut all of them in half, except the cover. You will fold the cover in half to help keep the pages together. Put all your pages in order inside the cover and then staple along the left-hand edge to keep it together. Make one book for each of your children (see lesson for details).
Matching Game
Scripture Study
Helaman 8 & 9 speak of corrupt people who were part of the secret band of Gadianton. Nephi speaks to them about their wickedness and describes prophets who had come before and testified of Jesus Christ. Grab some Post-it notes and study the scriptures as a family with the “Gadianton Robbers Post-it Match”. See lesson for more details.
Remember Him
Hands-On Activity
The Lord invites us to remember Him. Read Helaman 12:5 and discuss the things that people do to forget the Lord. Use some cups and a penny to have your child practice the concept of “remembering” and talk about what you can do to better remember Jesus Christ. See the “Remember, Remember Cup Activity” in the lesson for details.
Don’t Eat the Prophet!
Surprise Activity
Helaman 8:13-23 lists several names of prophets who testified of Jesus Christ. Have your child pick them out. Relate to how we have living prophets today who also testify of Christ. Play the “Don’t Eat Pete Prophet Game” and learn some fun facts about our current church leaders.

Toddler Bundle Lessons & Activities
For kids ages 1-4 at home and in nursery or sunbeams.
This week, we’ll be sharing the gospel with your little ones using the activity book in the Elementary Bundle. Be sure to use the activity book for younger children (Level 1, Recommended for ages 3-6). Print your activity book pages, then cut all of them in half, except the cover. You will fold the cover in half to help keep the pages together. Put all your pages in order inside the cover and then staple along the left-hand edge. Make one book for each of your children.
Pondering Invites Revelation
Go & Do Activity
Read Helaman 10:2 to your child. Ask them to listen for the word “pondering.” Tell them that “pondering” means to think about something. When they hear the word “pondering” in the verse, ask them to put a finger to their head like they are deep in thought. Nephi’s example teaches us that when we are unsure about something, if we ponder it we can figure out what God wants us to do. He will speak to us through the Spirit. Talk to your child about examples of things they can ponder. Share an experience you have of when you pondered something and received guidance. Then, print out the lily pad and frogs from the “Pond-ering Cakewalk” game. Cut them out and lay them on the floor in a circle. Play the song, “Search, Ponder, and Pray” (Children’s Songbook, pg. 109) and have your children walk around the circle. Stop the music randomly and have your children freeze where they are in front of a lily pad. The player in front of the pond with a frog answers a question. Choose a question from the “Toddler Questions” on the instruction page to ask your child. Through this activity, help your child see the blessings that come from pondering anywhere and anytime.
The toddler bundle includes a lesson plan and three activities every week. Grab the toddler bundle in our subscription.
