“Behold, My Joy is Full”

Come Follow Me Lessons & Activities for Kids Lesson 41 | October 7-13 | 3 Nephi 17–19

There are always things to be stressed about in our lives. Wouldn’t it be nice to just enjoy the moment with our loved ones instead of crossing off another item on our to-do list? The Savior Jesus Christ was Himself presented with this choice. He chose to “tarry a little longer” with the Nephites and heal their sick (3 Nephi 17:5). Then, continuing to be moved by compassion, Jesus blessed and played with the children who were present. His love for them overcame the need to move on to His next task.

President Thomas S. Monson once said, “Never let a problem to be solved become more important than a person to be loved.” With both Christ’s example and a prophet’s guidance, the way for us is clear: loving others will always help us be happier than simply getting things done.

This week’s Come Follow Me FHE lessons teaches principles straight from the scriptures. Each lesson includes everything you need to make Come, Follow Me fun for your kids! Join our membership for only $10 a month, and you’ll gain access to a treasure trove of resources to strengthen your family’s spiritual foundation and growth.

THIS WEEK’S COME FOLLOW ME HIGHLIGHTS

Elementary Bundle Lessons & Activities

This week, teach your children the chapters of Alma 43-52. You will find an activity book for your children (one for ages 3-6 and one for ages 7+). Print your activity book pages, then cut all of them in half, except the cover. You will fold the cover in half to help keep the pages together. Put all your pages in order inside the cover and then staple along the left-hand edge to keep it together. Make one book for each of your children (see lesson for details).

Sacrament with the Savior

Hands-On Activity

When we partake of the sacrament, we want our spirits to feel full, not empty. Read 3 Nephi 18:1-12 and explain how we are spiritually filled after taking the sacrament. Use the “sacrament trays” to take one piece of bread and water. For each piece you take, say how you can make the sacrament a more meaningful experience.

Christ Loves All Children

Coloring Activity

The Savior loves all of God’s children. He blesses them and prays for them. Read 3 Nephi 17:7, 20-25 and describe His encounter with the children as your own child colors the “Christ Loves All Children” coloring page.

Purpose in Prayer

Scripture Study

Jesus teaches us to watch and pray always. In 3 Nephi 18:15-25, He tells us important principles about prayer. After reading and discussing these verses, play the “Roll and Pray” game. Think about things you would give thanks for and ask for. Apply these ideas to your prayers as you make them more purposeful.

Toddler Bundle Lessons & Activities

For kids ages 1-4 at home and in nursery or sunbeams.

This week, we’ll be sharing the gospel with your little ones using the activity book in the Elementary Bundle. Be sure to use the activity book for younger children (Level 1, Recommended for ages 3-6). Print your activity book pages, then cut all of them in half, except the cover. You will fold the cover in half to help keep the pages together. Put all your pages in order inside the cover and then staple along the left-hand edge. Make one book for each of your children.

Remembering Christ Collectible Cards

Hands-On Activity

Christ ministered to the Nephites. He taught. He blessed. He prayed. He healed. These were all actions that He performed showing that He loved each one of them. He was the perfect example for all to follow. Read 3 Nephi 17:21. You might even choose to watch His ministry in the video, “Jesus Christ Has Compassion and Heals the People” from the Gospel Library. Discuss how Jesus loves us all. Print, cut and prepare the “Remembering Christ Collectible Cards.” You can use them in several ways such as in a quiet book, play with them in a matching game, or put them in baseball sleeves as collectibles. However you choose to use them, they will help your child remember Christ and all the many things He has done to show love.

The toddler bundle includes a lesson plan and three activities every week. Grab the toddler bundle in our subscription.
