Come Follow Me Lessons & Activities for Kids Lesson 43 | October 21-27 | 3 Nephi 27-4 Nephi
Following Jesus’ ministry among the Nephites, the people lived in harmony, free from wars and strife. They had an abundance of resources and shared their possessions equally. The majority of the people were righteous and lived according to Jesus’ teachings. The “love of God” was in the hearts of all people (4 Nephi 1:15).
During this time, hardships still existed. Yet with Christ as the center of the people’s lives, every trial was overcome with joy. As Mormon wrote, “there could not be a happier people” (4 Nephi 1:16). We, too, can find joy through Christ every day as we choose to look to Him for peace.
This week’s Come Follow Me FHE lessons teaches these principles from the scriptures themselves. Each lesson includes everything you need to make Come, Follow Me fun for your kids! THIS WEEK’S COME FOLLOW ME HIGHLIGHTS
Elementary Bundle Lessons & Activities
This week, teach your children the chapters of Alma 43-52. You will find an activity book for your children (one for ages 3-6 and one for ages 7+). Print your activity book pages, then cut all of them in half, except the cover. You will fold the cover in half to help keep the pages together. Put all your pages in order inside the cover and then staple along the left-hand edge to keep it together. Make one book for each of your children (see lesson for details).
Disciple Minibook
Scripture Study
As you study 3 Nephi 28, use the mini book to have your child color and assemble while you discuss the apostles and the desires of their heart. Have your child retell the story in their own words. You’ll find that teaching and spreading the gospel brought joy to Jesus’ disciples.
Joyful Jack-o-Lanterns
Go & Do Activity
The Nephites were converted unto Christ and lived lives of joy. Read 4 Nephi 1:1-18 and discuss how following Jesus Christ and making good choices can bring us peace, happiness and unity just like it did for the Nephites. As a family, use die to roll Joyful Jack-o-Lanterns and enjoy treats to end the night.
A Colorful Journey
Coloring Page
Read 3 Nephi 27:30-31. Talk with your child about how happy we feel after finding something that is lost. Heavenly Father feels the same way. He experiences joy when we return to Him after getting distracted or making wrong choices. Discuss how to help others who are feeling lost return to Heavenly Father as you color the Journey Home Coloring Page.

Toddler Bundle Lessons & Activities
For kids ages 1-4 at home and in nursery or sunbeams.
This week, we’ll be sharing the gospel with your little ones using the activity book in the Elementary Bundle. Be sure to use the activity book for younger children (Level 1, Recommended for ages 3-6). Print your activity book pages, then cut all of them in half, except the cover. You will fold the cover in half to help keep the pages together. Put all your pages in order inside the cover and then staple along the left-hand edge. Make one book for each of your children.
Jesus Christ’s Church
Hands-On Activity
Ask your child why their name is important. What if they didn’t have a name? Why is their name special? etc. Tell your child that Jesus’s disciples had a question for Him. They wanted to know what the name of the church should be. (You might add some silly commentary leading to Christ’s response by saying, “Do you think Christ wants to name it… The church of (insert dog’s name)? Or The church of (insert sibling’s name?) No! That would be silly!” Ask, “Why do you think the name of the church is not any of those names?” Your child might respond that it’s not their church. Read 3 Nephi 27:7. Jesus said that the church should be called in His name. That is why the name of the church is “The Church of Jesus Christ.” We belong to His church and we follow His gospel. Let your child make their own, I Belong To The Church of Jesus Christ Crown. Once they finish, sing together, “The Church of Jesus Christ” in the Children’s Songbook (page 77) as they wear their crowns on their heads. Talk about what belonging to His church means for them as described in the song. Share your gratitude for the blessing to be a part of His church.
The toddler bundle includes a lesson plan and three activities every week. Grab the toddler bundle in our subscription.
