Come Follow Me Lessons & Activities for Kids Lesson 46 | November 11-17 | Ether 1-5
The brother of Jared was both a mighty prophet and man who makes mistakes. The Lord had blessed his family and friends with a safe place to live, full of beauty and abundance. Life was good, but it was not what the Lord intended for them. The brother of Jared was called to repentance, and great were the miracles and revelations that followed.
When life gets comfortable, we sometimes forget to keep asking for guidance and neglect new ways to improve our faith. We should not be afraid when we are asked to cross a “great deep” in our lives that will bring us closer to the blessings the Lord has in store for our families (Ether 2:25).
This week’s Come Follow Me FHE lessons teaches these principles from the scriptures themselves. Each lesson includes everything you need to make Come, Follow Me fun for your kids! Join our membership for only $10 a month, and you’ll gain access to a treasure trove of resources to strengthen your family’s spiritual foundation and growth.

THIS WEEK’S COME FOLLOW ME HIGHLIGHTS
Elementary Bundle Lessons & Activities
This week, teach your children the chapters of Alma 43-52. You will find an activity book for your children (one for ages 3-6 and one for ages 7+). Print your activity book pages, then cut all of them in half, except the cover. You will fold the cover in half to help keep the pages together. Put all your pages in order inside the cover and then staple along the left-hand edge to keep it together. Make one book for each of your children (see lesson for details).
This week’s lesson format will look different and continue for the rest of the month. As you dive into the Book of Ether, follow along using the Tale of the Jaredites Comic Book to study the scriptures in a fun and exciting way! You can print the comic book in color or black and white and add your special touches by coloring it yourself! Use the comic book to study one chapter a night throughout the week or complete them all in one evening. Add to your experience by watching the Book of Mormon video, “The Jaredites Travel to the Promised Land” at the beginning or end of your week.
Here are a few ideas of how you might incorporate the Tale of the Jaredites Comic Book into your Come, Follow Me study:
- Complete the comic book section together each night as a family.
- Let older children complete independently during a nightly study.
- At the end of the week share all your comic books in a show-and-tell fashion.
- Let each family member retell and read out loud a chapter of Ether using their comic book.
However you choose to use the comic book, we hope it will inspire you to find the important lessons within the Brother of Jared’s experiences as his family journeyed to the promised land.

You will fold the cover in half to help keep the pages together. Put all your pages in order inside the cover and then staple along the left-hand edge. Make one book for each of your children.
Jesus Has a Body
Scripture Study
The Lord showed himself to the Brother of Jared. Read Ether 3:15-16. Describe to your child how the Brother of Jared saw the finger of the Lord. Say, “The Brother of Jared saw the finger of the Lord. Then the Lord showed Himself to him. The Brother of Jared saw that The Lord has a body of skin and bones, just like we do because we were made in His image. This means that we were made just like Him! What the Brother of Jared saw was important because we learn what Jesus looks like!” Get a picture of Jesus. Point to the parts of Jesus’ body like His head, shoulders, fingers and toes. Ask your child to name the parts of His body. Then point to the same body parts on your child and ask them to name them. Play the song, “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes” from the Children’s Songbook (page 275a). First, play the song as your child points to the parts of the body of Jesus. Then play it again as they touch their body parts throughout the song. Replay it over and over and see if they can get faster each time. Help your child undersand that they were made with a body just as the Lord. Invite them to remember how special they are because of this important truth!
The toddler bundle includes a lesson plan and three activities every week. Grab the toddler bundle in our subscription.
