Come Follow Me Lessons & Activities for Kids

Week 53 | December 23 - December 29

This is our last lesson for New Testament. We hope you have enjoyed our lessons and that your family has learned a lot and increased your testimonies of the Savior this year by learning of his life and ministry.

We know that life is crazy this time of year so we tried to keep this weeks lesson simple, easy, and fun.

We’re finishing up with Revelations chapters 12-22. The bible teaches us that good will prevail over evil. Read about the war in heaven in Revelations 12:7-17 and teach how it still continues on Earth today. Discuss what happened before we came to Earth and how we chose to follow Christ and come to Earth. Use the premortal life foldable book. Be sure to follow the directions in your materials on how to cut and fold it.

Display the print for this week. Read more about being faithful to receive celestial glory in Revelation 22:1-5. Relate this to anyone you know and love who has left this earth. Share about life after death and that we can return to live with Heavenly Father after this life. Sing Families Can Be Together Forever and use the family coloring page provided.

This is a great time to share about temples and temple work. Discuss the importance of being sealed together as a family and the difference between a temple marriage and a civil marriage. You may consider showing your wedding pictures or watching a video about temple work from churchofjesuschrist.org. Discuss what you feel your family needs to learn.

Be sure to read over the bonus ideas for this week. There are a lot of fun ones like winter bingo as well as meaningful ones like having a family testimony meeting and talking about what you’ve learned from the New Testament this year.

“To Be a Greater Follower of Righteousness”

Abraham lived a life of violence and peace, of trauma and healing, and of promises and faith. Through every trial, Abraham trusted in the Lord and chose to follow Him even when his world was at its darkest. He was rewarded with a covenant that encompasses all of God’s children and will last into the eternities. This covenant and its blessings are extended to our families today.

“Noah Found Grace in the Eyes of the Lord”

The phrase, “found grace in the eyes of the Lord (Moses 8:27), has at least two meanings that can bless our families. One is that Noah lived in a way that allowed the Lord to strengthen him and his family during difficult circumstances. A second meaning is that Noah discovered the peace that comes from looking at life through God’s eyes. By looking at life with an eternal perspective, Noah “walked with God, as did also his three sons” (Moses 8:27) even in a world filled with wickedness.

“The Lord Called His People Zion”

In less than one generation, the world God created was filled with wickedness. One exception was Enoch, a prophet who taught his people how to live the gospel of Jesus Christ. As Enoch talked with God, he was amazed to see that the Divine Creator would cry at the fall of His children: “How is it thou canst weep?” (Moses 7:31). God responded, “They are the workmanship of mine own hands” (Moses 7:32). He was sad because each child of God is precious to Him. He grieves for each one of us when our choices take us away from Him.
