Mind & Heart

This painting is inspired by one of my favorite scriptures about revelation. I am drawn to the profound truth in D&C 8:2-4, which speaks of the Lord providing us with a two-part verification system when we receive revelation. We will be told in our mind and in our heart when we receive truth from the Lord. This spirit of revelation guided the children of Israel through the Red Sea on dry ground, leading them away from the pursuing enemy. This same gift can be applied in our own lives to deliver us from our adversaries.

The world can often seem confusing and frightening, and as a young woman, I experienced a great deal of fear. The Lord’s two-step verification system has served as a guiding light, helping me find my spiritual way. I have witnessed Him deliver me repeatedly from darkness and the adversary’s attacks. My hope is that when others view this painting, they will be reminded of the power that enters our lives when we take time to speak with the Lord and receive His guidance.
