Song of the Heart

One of the first things the Lord deemed necessary for the restored gospel was a hymnal of sacred music. I cherish how the Lord established music as a vital element of our meetings and worship. It has profoundly impacted my testimony and provided opportunities for the Spirit to touch my heart. Emma Smith, entrusted with the task of compiling the first hymnal, dedicated five years to gathering a collection of hymns. I am grateful for her devotion to this crucial work and the significant role her hymns have played in enriching the worship of Saints throughout the years.
