Two friends in the Susquehanna

In the spring of 1829, following the momentous conferral of the Aaronic Priesthood by John the Baptist upon Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery, a directive was given: “Go and be baptized.” On the edge of the Smith property laid the Susquehanna River. There, Joseph baptized Oliver first. In turn, Oliver baptized Joseph. What joy must have filled those two friends’ hearts as they learned how to be baptized with the authority of God in the name of Christ.
