Plant This Word in Your Hearts

Come Follow Me Lessons & Activities for Kids

Week 29 | July 13 - July 19

As you read Alma chapter 32:17-43 stop at verse 21 and use the Code Breaker.

Use the Faith Seed Sort activity to discuss some things we can do to make sure our testimony is nourished.

Have a wiggle break and sing the song Faith. Making up actions to the words is a good way for children to remember the words.

End the lesson by planting a seed in a cup.

As a bonus idea this week, read the Simplified Scripture Story of Zenos and Zenock. Discuss different places and times that you can pray. You could even play charades to act out some of the things you discuss. Make the Prayer Necklace Tags and let the children wear them throughout the week to remind them to pray.

Another bonus idea is to use the Scripture Story Guide as you read Alma 32:26-35. There is always a scripture guide for junior and senior age children.

Give each child a Prayer coloring page. As you read Alma 34:17-29 follow along with the thought bubbles. Each time you read about one color it in.

Consider making a faith dessert to enjoy. We have recipes available in our shop that include a Faith Pudding Cup. It comes with a cute tag to add meaning and connection from the scriptures. If you purchased a workbook the recipes have been added as a digital bonus in your account.

If you currently have a monthly or yearly Come Follow Me FHE lesson subscription you can access the materials by logging into your account, click on “My Account” and then click on “Downloads.” The most current lesson will always be listed at the bottom. For the first time in millennia, a temple of God was again on the earth.

With our busy lives, it can be too easy to think we have to have the strength to do it all ourselves: getting kids up and ready for school, working long hours, doing laundry and dishes, making meals, planning activities, fulfilling callings, and so on. We will become burned out from life if we trust only ourselves to make everything happen.

“Jesus Christ Will Gather His People”

Between activities like school, work, and even church callings, we can easily get caught up in being so busy that we forget what it’s all for. No matter what we do for our family, what matters most is “why” we have our family: to live together forever in love and joy. Our Heavenly Father’s plan of salvation is how we can make that happen.
