Come Follow Me Lessons & Activities for Kids

Week 47 | November 11 - November 17

This weeks lessons is a great opportunity to learn and teach about Faith. In Hebrews 11 we get to read about some great people who were examples of having faith. Use the cute finger puppets as you read or summarize the story of each person.

A Mystery Scripture Story for Hebrews 11 is included in your materials this week as a bonus activity. You can use it for older children to study right out of the bible about the people in the scriptures that had such great faith.

There are also bible videos available you can use to help teach.

After giving the examples of faithful people discuss as a family how we can have more faith. Use the family definition poster and seeds to come up with your own definition of faith. You can write the definition on the poster and use a seed for each member of the family. Or everyone can write their own definition on a seed and put it on the poster. Display the faith poster in your home all week.

Complete the coloring page to teach that Heavenly Father and Jesus will help us and will never leave us alone.

One of the bonus ideas is to talk about sacrifice and the sacrament. Use the sheep craft and symbols page to help teach about these subjects.

This week’s lesson from Psalms (Psalms 49–51; 61–66; 69–72; 77–78; 85–86) centers on God’s endless mercy, forgiveness, and role as our safe refuge. The psalmists openly share their struggles, fears, and mistakes, showing us that faith isn’t about being perfect—it’s about knowing who to turn to when we need help.

“The Lord Is My Shepherd”

In modern times, the Lord declared “the song of the heart is a prayer unto me” (Doctrine and Covenants 25:12). In ancient times, songs, or psalms, were used to praise the Lord and remember His covenants with His people. Many Psalms are attributed to King David, whose relationship with God is one of the most detailed in the entire Old Testament. It’s no wonder David is thought to be the author of so many songs that praise the Lord for His strength, His mercy, His patience with His children, and His eternal love for all mankind.

“Yet Will I Trust in Him”

Job had many blessings in his life: a large family, a devoted spouse, and wealth that provided plenty and more for his household. Job gave thanks to God for his blessings, but even when nearly every blessing was taken away, he did not lessen his faith. Instead, as those around him said his faith had been a waste of time, Job showed his trust in the Lord by exercising Christlike patience and long suffering. Eventually, Job’s faith was rewarded, and his trust in God was justified.
